About Linda Ann and Wholefood Farmacy

Linda Ann is a cancer survivor who makes daily choices to live a health lifestyle.

She is a perpetual student learning about superior nutrition and wellness models. She participates in a daily exercise  routine and personal growth activities.

Linda Ann received National Board for Professional Teaching Standards in 2002.  This National Board Certification is awarded to teachers who successfully fulfill the rigorous ten month process of certification.  She has been a teacher in the Rochester City School district for 13 years teaching 4th, 5th and 6th grades and previously taught 9 years with the Catholic Diocese of Rochester, 3 years with Rush-Henrietta Central School District, 1 year with Sodus Central School District.

In addition to classroom teaching, Linda Ann is a life coach.  Her clients include professionals who seek guidance about using simple daily choices to make major life changes such as weight-loss, career change or divorce.  Much of her coaching can be done successfully on the telephone and, often times, through the internet, as well as in one on one meetings.

She has a wonderful, supportive husband who is co-owner of Rochester Chiropractic.  He is a song writer as well as a skilled chiropractor. Her two adult children are married and have families of their own and two step-children who both attend college. She is expecting her first grandchild in December.

She has been eating organic wholefoods (preferably raw) before it was fashionable.  Due to her experience with cancer, she is happy to chat or coach others seeking similar healing paths. Lifestyle changes, such as eating healthy, organic foods, exercising regularly and personal growth activities such as reading, counseling and journaling, all contribute to a successful journey towards wellness.

The Wholefood Farmacy opened for business in March 2003 with a mission to supply healthy, convenient, whole food based meals & snacks, non-toxic personal care items, and to educate the public regarding a wellness based lifestyle.

Over the past century, we've seen enormous advances in medical technology. We have more doctors, more pharmaceutical medicines, and more hospitals than ever before. We also have the sickliest generation of Americans in history.  The number one culprit: THE AMERICAN DIET.

Life Coaching

We Must Believe In Ourselves

adapted from Phil Evans

One of the most common reasons which brings people to contact me about Life Coaching, is their inability to completely break the negative influences that their childhood has had upon them.  They often speak of shocking parental, older sibling or teacher domination, where they were put down or told negative things about themselves on a regular basis.

I'm not referring to 'whiners' here: the kind of people who complain about absolutely everything and everyone; no, I'm referring to people who after much soul-searching, have drawn the conclusion that their parental influences are so strong and overbearing that they have to learn how to bust free!  They want to learn how to break the cycle of being put down; not encouraged; told that they are wasting their time if they try to do something new; constantly berated about everything they do; manipulated by self pity methods which are absolutely draining and hurtful.

The First Step:  The short answer is that we must learn to believe in ourselves; despite the negative lessons we've been taught by these people.  Then we've got to learn to stop seeking their approval; because every time that we do, we get crunched.

The Second Step:   Then we've got to learn to forgive them for the way they are; because despite their behavior being harmful to us, they were still doing their best.  That's right .... they didn't know any better!  That is often a hard pill to swallow, but I assure you it is one of the biggest chunks of being able to actually forgive someone, and get on with our lives!

The Third Step:   Then we've got to learn to speak up for ourselves; and to take a stance against the domination or negativity (if it still exists).  They can still be suffering from negative and dominant controlling and manipulating methods being used by a parent, or in some cases both parents, regardless of their own age (40's, 50's, 60's .... and even older).

There are two common situations here: the first being people who have been adversely influenced during childhood and teen years, but are now struggling as adults to break free from that 'stuff'; and the second is the people who want to break free from existing parental domination (regardless of their own age at present).  Either way, the process mentioned above is essential in allowing freedom and peace of mind.

This may challenge some people who think that parents or teachers are always right; but this is NOT about making them wrong, it is about individuals grabbing hold of their own personal power.  Realisatons about controlling influences in our lives can often be quite confronting, or even terrifying for some!  When we've been taught from childhood that something is 'gospel truth', then it becomes quite deeply entrenched in our subconscious.  Suddenly challenging that habitual way of thinking by saying to ourselves, and others, that "enough is enough", may feel daunting, but if it is time that it must be done, then it must be done!

So, if something's haunting you in your adult life which you know is running deep within you, and you are now choosing to break free from its controlling influence, then get help!  Get help now!  Challenge yourself and do something about it!

What might you do?
Seek out the most appropriate counsel for your situation; you'll know who feels right for you, and they'll know what's best for you once you've made the move to seek help.

Remember: The ability to actually believe in ourselves has often been taken from us by others, when we were too young to know any different.  If this hits home to you - then it's time to get it back .... right now!  And like lots of things in our lives, this will require Courage; Persistence; Patience; and Commitment to Self!

Have a great week of being good to yourself, and to others.

Remember: "What others do or say is their stuff; how we react, or not, is our stuff"!
And: "True Happiness in life isn't having what you want, but wanting what you have"!
